From May 24 to 29, 2019, I visited Senior High School in La Sal University, Das Marinas City, near Manila, Philippines, for a five-night, six-day schedule.,The international exchange event that I met in mutual trust seemed to be sticky as the year went by.
The sunny laughter and free English conversation of the children preparing for the future embarrassed the adults of the Konglish generation.
Wilson R. Jacinto, MS, who is in charge of international exchange at LaSal University, even promised to give one or two students who graduated from our school a special admission to the prestigious LaSal University, all of which was the result of a solid belief after visiting our school twice.
Generally, students who go to La Salle in Korea are prestigious universities that have to go through difficult and difficult screening procedures. on the other hand, they gave an extraordinary condition to our school, so they appreciated it on the one hand and realized the status and globalization strategy of our school.
Thank the senior high school faculty members of LaSal University, including the principal of Torres, Senior High School, and Wilson International Exchange Director, who invited our party to a big dinner after students left homestay.
In particular, I would like to thank Mr. Huh Man-heon, principal of Sangju Girls' High School, who joined the international exchange event for the first time, and the teachers and students.
2019년 5월 24일 부터 29일 까지 5박 6일 일정으로 필리핀 마닐라 인근에 위치핰 다스마리나스시 라살대학교 부설 시니어 고등학교를 방문하고 돌아왔다. 서로의 신뢰 속에서 만난 국제교류 행사는 해를 거듭할 수록 끈끈한 정이 묻어나는 듯 했다.
미래를 준비하는 아이들의 해맑은 웃음과 자유로운 영어 대화는 콩글리쉬 세대인 어른들을 부끄럽게 했다.
라살대학교에서 국제교류 업무를 책임지고 있는 Wilson R. Jacinto, MS는 우리 학교를 졸업하는 학생들 1~2명을 명문 라살대학교에 특례입학 시켜 주겠다는 약속까지 했는데 이 모든 것이 지난 2번 우리 학교를 방문하고 난 뒤 믿음이 확실해 진 결과였다고 했다.
일반적으로 우리나라에서 라살대로 유학을 가는 학생들은 어렵고도 힘든 전형 절차를 거쳐야 하는 명문 대학인데 우리 학교에 파격적인 조건을 제시해 주었으니 한 편으로 고맙고 다른 한 편으론 우리 학교에 대한 위상과 글로벌화 전략을 실감한 계기가 되었다.
학생들이 홈스테이를 떠난 후 우리 일행을 초청하여 성대한 만찬을 베풀어 준 시니어 고등학교 토레스 교장과 윌슨 국제교류원장 등 라살대학교 부설 시니어 고등학교 교직원들께 감사한다.
특히 이번 국제교류 행사에 처음으로 합류한 상주여자고등학교 허만헌 교장선생님과 인솔교사 및 학생들에게도 감사드리며 현지 행사 진행을 위해 몸을 아끼지 않으신 예일문화원 남경훈 원장께 감사를 드린다.
